Industry publications and business surveys are valuable tools used in business to determine trends and to improve knowledge and communication within a company and industry. To meet these needs and provide unbiased and timely information across all heavy duty markets and products, HDMA produces several publications and surveys to assist and inform HDMA members.
The 2009 Global Commercial Vehicle Report is a research study produced by HDMA every other calendar year. The 2009 HDMA Global Commercial Vehicle Report details trending and data points on the NAFTA and Global heavy duty commercial vehicle industry and provides up-to-date information that will help effectively plan marketing campaigns, determine new product research and development, to make sound market evaluations.

Diesel Download is the popular HDMA weekly e-mail newsletter distributed each Monday and is a compilation of industry-related news information for such topics as raw material issues, oil and diesel cost trends, CARB emission standards legislation status, industry event announcements and registration opportunities as well as other valuable and timely news items collected to keep HDMA members informed and aware of news surrounding the heavy duty industry. Diesel Download is offered as a member-only publication, and any employee of a member company is invited to their own subscription.
International Diesel Download was developed after we realized, based on article hits on the weekly Diesel Download e-newsletter, that our members were actively searching for more global commercial vehicle information. The solution to the demand was to develop a weekly publication based primarily on international news.
International Diesel Download is published on the Thursday of each week, and incorporates news items focusing on international commercial truck market news, and other economic indicators and data that factor into the supplier community. We consider this new publication another opportunity for our members to keep on the cutting edge of information surrounding the commercial vehicle industry.

The Barometer is a survey published quarterly and is compiled from business data reported by our members. The contents of each published Barometer is shared with responders to the survey, and the anonymously reported results include estimated current and next year truck builds, raw materials recovery cost percentages, current business conditions, as well as risks and trends being experienced in the market.
HDMA executives are also invited from time to time to write guest columns, provide quotes to industry publications and the media on behalf of their members, and are often invited to present and speak at various industry conferences and events. With membership in HDMA, members also have access to valuable and timely MEMA information and other industry publications and market surveys.
